How to become a rock star – part 2

Legendary or not, rock musicians know how to make the crowd insane and they charge everyone who enjoys rock music emotionally. If you want to feel like a rock god, you need to work a lot, but this job will be like a vacation, because you are doing what you love to do.

Even if your first few performances in local places went so well that you felt like you’re already half there, you should act wisely and not quit your job, before you are 100% sure that you can make a living with your music. There are a lot of failed rock stars who made a few nice songs and then inspiration stopped visiting. Always be prepared for the worst.

When you feel that your band is doing very good and your music is appreciated already, try uploading some of your performances in YouTube. That’s where you can find many new fans and you can introduce people to your music. May be some of those people will turn to be an important figures in your career. May be it is just a rumor, or maybe not, but it is possible that huge music companies search for new talents via YouTube. Where else could they find such wide variety of people who want to become famous? Thus, you should try to make you video noticeable.

Make a CD with your songs. That way you can pass it on to people you randomly meet and they might pass it around too.

Dare to dream and don’t let people pull you down if at some point your music is criticized and your talent is doubted. Almost every musician has to go through a period, when his songs are underappreciated. If you don’t stop and surrender, the moment will pass and you can return with even better tracks.

Don’t forget about you family and friends. They can both help you spread your music and be there for you when something goes wrong. You will need a friend to stay true to you even when the people around you are acting sweet, because everyone tends to be friendly to famous people for their money and success.

Try to avoid falling for drugs, cigarettes and alcohol. Search inspiration somewhere beautiful like going alone to peaceful places like forests, mountains and so on. I know that wild rock star lifestyle can be very insane and it pulls you to try everything, but if you resist that urge, you won’t regret it.

How To Become A Rock Star – Part 1

When you listen to MTV and you see the life of rock stars you can’t help but wonder how they managed to achieve fame, money and luxury and also have the chance to roar their believes in front of millions of people in just a few years. It is not hard to make a rock band. Becoming famous is a completely different matter.

Obviously, you need to be good at singing or playing an instrument. You should find people who can fit to your style and make your music sound complete.

One very important thing is that your band has a cool name that draws attention. It should sound both a little violent and a little mysterious so people would wonder what does it mean or what is the story behind it. Then you can come up with an astonishing story that sounds almost unbelievable. People will want to believe anyway. Like for example Wolf sweetheart could be linked with the dark forest you got lost in, while playing the guitar and suddenly a whole wolf’s pack surrounded you, because you turned out to be in their territory, but your music calmed them and you walked out unharmed. You grasped the main idea, right? We can only guess what could be the story behind My bloody valentine.

Once you have a band of great players and a cool name, you have to find in your heart what you really want to sing about. Successful rock songs are deep, they tell a story, they send a message and that message brings feelings. Just like jazz musicians wrote their best songs when feeling down, rock stars need to suck from the same inspiration. The music you create must be something that you like and you would listen to with joy.

When you have your first songs written you have to practice them a lot so every word and every tone find their best position. Don’t hesitate to sing on stage even if it is not the big stage of your dreams. Little stages help you to adjust to singing live in front of people and that prepares you for the next challenge – the real rock concert. Also, word tends to spread and if you are really lucky you might be heard and then found.

Becoming a rock star is a long path, but if you are willing to do your best and if that is exactly what you want to achieve, you will get there.
